Excellent Phone System

We purchased and received this cordless phone/answering system a week ago. So far, it has provided flawless operation. It was very easy to set up. Everything works as it should, with enough range on the handsets for our three story home with no noise or interference. The caller ID voice announcements are fun, although the name pronunciation on some callers is funny to hear (that feature can be turned off if it annoys you). We have not had any unexpected volume change problems as reported on some Panasonic cordless models. All in all, we are very pleased with this device.

Bought this phone to replace an 10 year old Panasonic model which was still working fine, but getting that well-worn appearance. I am very pleased with the phone's appearance and comfortable feel, plus it is easy to set up and use. Has all the features we need and the sound quality is great. The ringer can be set quite loud and is loud when on speaker phone too. I was so pleased, I bought another one for my 90 year old mother who has trouble hearing. The screen characters are large and the buttons are a nice size. I like well-designed products that work great, and this is definitely one of those.
Panasonic, a Reliable Cordless Phone

We have owned this, our second Panasonic cordless phone, for approximately one year. My wife and I felt that Panasonic's change in "cordless phone technology" made this a worthwhile upgrade. Since making this purchase, we've enjoyed the use of the new "Talking Caller ID." You no longer have to check the phone dial to see who's calling. Now, following the second ring, caller identification can be heard throughout your home. One other feature that we've also enjoyed is the ability to block unwanted calls. Once the caller's phone number has been entered into your blocked caller list, all the caller will hear is a busy signal. Searching for a new cordless phone can be a tedious task. Stop here and be assured that this will be a good purchase.
An excellent value

I closed a business and wanted to downsize from the clunky 4 line phone I used for years. This refurbished Panasonic turned out to be perfect. It has all the normal phone features, speed dial, voice mail, memory etc, plus the ability to just plug into any outlet in the house and have an extension. No need to run phone jacks. I have used Panasonic phones for 20 years and they have proved to be amazingly reliable. I have no doubt this one will do likewise. PS the whole system cost $40.00 + shipping.
Glad I bought this phone!

I couldn't make up my mind whether to buy this phone for months; the negative reviews (difficult manual, poor sound quality) worried me. If you're on the fence as I was, go ahead & order it. It's a very good phone at a reasonable price. If you do the following I'll bet you'll be satisfied: 1. Unpack it, insert batteries, plug base unit & charger unit into electric outlets. Don't connect the phone line yet; keep using your old phone & allow the handsets to charge the required 7 hours. Do not read ahead in the manual; it will only scare you! 2. Connect the phone line to the base unit & sit down with it, the handset from that unit, & the manual. Go through the manual page by page, playing around with each feature to learn how it works. Call your landline # from your cell phone to try out caller ID & the answering machine. 3. The first time you answer the phone or make an outgoing call, turn the volume on the handset down to the middle setting. The sound quality out of the box was terrible, which several reviewers mentioned, but it's because of the volume setting, not a problem with the phone. The default setting is "high." As soon as I set it to the middle volume level, the sound quality was absolutely fine!
About the phonebook: It alphabetizes by the first letter entered, so unless you want to alphabetize people by their first names, you have to enter names with the last name first. You can put as many names with the same first letter in as you wish, contrary to what one review stated.
About the call block feature: I didn't care about this feature when I ordered the phone but I love it! Since the "do not call" legislation has tons of loopholes we are still bothered by too many calls we don't want, & now when I get one of those I just add the number to my blocked list. The phone still gives half a ring while it is identifying the number & then it just disconnects.
I have only three complaints, none of which is bad enough to make me not recommend this phone. The first is it is hard to hold the handset against my ear with my shoulder because of the shape. It tapers in thickness toward the top so it wants to slide down. The second is all those 3-digit feature codes - surely the Panasonic programmers could have made this phone completely menu-driven! Luckily most of the commonly-used features are menu-driven. The third is that the talking caller ID doesn't start until after the 2nd ring. I wish it would start as soon as it identifies the number.
I really like my new phone & I'm so glad I bought it! |
